John Hennessey's Perfecting Beauty seminar

Last week the On-Site team plus Allie (from In-Studio) had the opportunity to attend the LA makeup show. They were able to get some hands on training, see amazing platform work and be exposed to some of the hottest makeup vendors in the industry! They are excited to share with you the latest techniques and looks from the top makeup artists in the country! I had the opportunity and honor to sit through a 2 hour class with Nicholas French thanks to my mentor Larry Curtis (founder of Taylor Andrews Academy)

Greg went with me. It was actually our first date since we decided to open the salon! Anyway, aside from all the amazing and inspiring things I learned, he shared something

that was very inspiring.

He asked

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Hairdressing, makeup artistry- its all about innovation. Finding ways to make things better, more effective and new. Life, is about progression, learning and becoming better. So I guess regardless you and I will always have something in common and that is we both desire to progress. So when was the last time you did something for the first time?

STUDIO STEMS BOUQUET GIVE AWAY

Thats right studio stems is giving some bouquets away .... here are the details....

As a designer Audrey gets cravings to do certain things. Sometimes she gets to do those things with clients, other times its a bit too edgy for clients. She recently attended a design class and realized that she wants/needs to do some things that she had been dreaming up artisticaly.
She has about 6 designs in mind. They range from a more traditonal feel with a twist to very edgy. She wants to GIVE them away for COST ONLY. This means you would be getting bouquets from studio stems, from Audrey ... for $30-$200 that would normally be $150-$500. here are the rules ...

1.If your an exisiting client and your designs are done you cannot apply, if your designs are not done and your an existing client you can apply. otherwise this is open to any and all brides for bridal sitting bouquets or wedding day bouquets.
2. color schemes are available to be customized to you on 5 of the bouquets.
3. i will not divulge designs until we have chatted and i have determined what design would best suit the applicant
4. you must have a professional photographer, that is willing to comp her a disc of images that include the bouquet, or you must own the rights to your disc and allow her to copy your pics for advertising use.
5. you must pay costs up front.

Dress Drive 2009

On April 11 2009, Studio Enizio will be hosting a Dress Drive and we need your help!
Pull out those old High School dresses and donate them to our salon between today and April 11, 2009. We will then hold an event where we will sell your donations for no more than 40 BUCKS!
All proceeds will go to the Panzi Hospital in the District of Congo.

Heres the Guidelines for Donations:
Ideal donations include formal gowns from 2002 to new, in GREAT condition, in all sizes and colors.
Dresses must be dry cleaned and on hangers.
Must be formal gowns or fancy party dresses.

Everyone that donates will have a chance to be entered into a drawing for a free makeover by the Enizio Team!

All of you who will need a dress for Prom can come on the 11th of April and pick one up for under 40 dollars! Plus all you girls that come in to purchase will also be entered into a drawing to have your hair and makeup done for prom on us!!!!

So PLEASE pass the word along. We need all the help we can get to make this a successful event.

About the Panzi Hospital in the District of Congo:

The Congo war has claimed more lives than any conflict since the end of World War II, yet receives almost no attention outside central Africa. An estimated 4 million people have died here since 1996 — the vast majority not by firepower but starvation or preventable diseases, as people hid in the jungle to escape the fighting." A couple of months back we had the opportunity to do Carrie and now we got the chance to come back and do her sister in law. It was fun to be a part of Heathers wedding. She was so beautiful! 

Brea

We initially scheduled Brea for on-site but ended up doing her whole run in studio. This was the first bride Carol or I was not a part of. Since it was in Studio Kenzie and Jocelyn teamed up on this beautiful bride to be.  On her wedding day we had her mom in as well as the groom. It was fun to get everyone ready together. It brought a very happy spirit to the salon. It was so much fun to meet and work with Brea. Heres a couple of pictures since we don't have before and afters.

So my little brother is pretty much amazing. I just got back from his show tonight. I can post it cause i cut his hair for the show so its somewhat hair related right? 

Anyway, the show is at the scera theater in Orem and is running tomorrow night and I believe monday night as well and I think its worthy of seeing so Im spreading the word. Go check it out. GO!!
