Happy New Year 2010

The above photo was taken in Merida Venezuela. I know it doesn't look like much but for me its one of the most magical places on earth. As a small child and through my youth I spent most of my New Years in this small town located in the Andes Mountains of my home country. Some of the best memories of my life took place here. Merida has been a huge part of my life and means so much to me. Today I wanted to share a small portion of my life with you. If I could have one wish it would be that I could be there tonight!
This year, Enizio has experienced so much growth. We have had the opportunity to work with some amazing brides, vendors and industry leaders. I cannot thank God enough for the experiences of this year. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to our growth this year-Utahbrideblog.com, Alta Moda Bridal, Retrospect Studios, Studios Stems, Tessa and Utah Bride and Groom Magazine, Larry Curtis and the staff at Taylor Andrews Academy, Paul Mitchell Academy, Renaissance Academy, Brittany of Racoon International, Ericka Hoytt who I love and miss dearly, Anita Hansen, Roger, Krystal, Victor and the staff at Salon Services, Riehl Events, Brody Dezember, The Peppa- Pepper Nix and Zuma Photo, Dustin Izatt, Young Living, Salon Visage and the Agility Group, GENO STAMPORA, Ben and Kim Cahoon, Rebekah Westover, Justin Hackworth, Melissa Kelsey, Susie of Definition Images, Opie Photo, Julie Parker, Tiffany and Laurie Vukich, Alysses Bridal, BrideAccess.com, WeddingWire.com, Style Me Pretty, Lexi of Grand America Hotel and of course all of our Brides, clients and Enizio followers of 2009. But most of all I want to thank our staff - Alex, Flavia, Jocelyn, Allie, Stephanie, Kelly, Morgan, Macy and Lauren. We have experienced so much together! And lastly Greg- My better half who inspires me and pushes me to succeed, helps my dreams come true and smiles the whole way through. Enizio would not exist without any of you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, your love and your contributions to our success!
May we all have a wonderful and prosperous 2010!!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS-Trend Report 2010!

WISHING EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU A SAFE AND WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON FULL OF GREAT HAIR AND MAKEUP DAYS!
2010 Is going to be a great and very colorful year! A little Bohemian and a lot of Rock and Roll!
For those of you who like your hair to speak rather than scream, Sun-kissed and stripey is out the door. Bohemian is all about dimension and movement with a very ethereal feeling. For those who are more daring and want to make a statement, Rock and Roll all the way, its all about dark cool shades! Influenced by Japanese cartoons, non traditional high contrast highlights will bring high drama!
As for our Brides, 2010 has some fun stuff in store as well! Classically Unique is a must for hair! Check out the rest of the wedding trends here.
Were excited for the upcoming year and all it has in store for all things hair!!!!

Taking Fashion to the Farm - Enizio heads to MUD LAKE ID

This month our team had the opportunity to visit the Bybee Family Farm in Mud Lake ID. Between the insanely cold weather to the out of our character activities, this experience was an unforgettable one. The Bybee's had us feeding, branding and preg checking the cows, as well as shooting targets, ribbon roping and riding horses. We also had the opportunity to train with Stephanie's old Paul Mitchell team on the importance of communication and team unity. It was a wild yet successful 3 days, ones I know I will never forget! Check it out....

She was not only fun and energetic she was the most kind and generous bride we have ever had. After everything was said and done, Amy invited Carol and I to be sit down guests at her dinner reception which was a huge honor. Photographed by the sweet Darla Roze, Amy is an absolute inspiration. Check out the rest of her session here. You can also see all her flower artistry there done by the ever so lovely Audrey Obrien of Studio Stems.
Thank you Amy for sharing your wedding day with us, we adore you!!

Kate was photographed by our favorite photog Heidi Uhl! She's done it again!! You can check out the rest of her DELICIOUS session here. HOLIDAY MUST HAVES

The Holiday Season has arrived! I couldn't be more excited! December is a month of holiday cheer, parties and a lot of love!! Here's Enizio's must have products to get you through the season looking your very best!

1. Makeup Forever Primer
The end of the year means longer hours at work. It also means little prep time between your day activities into your evening activities. Makeup Forever Primer will help your makeup last throughout the day making it easier and quicker to switch your day look into your night look.
Primers are wonderful for filling in all the imperfections in the face helping to give you a flawless foundation application.

2. Chroma Thermique
This is the season we pull out all the heat tools. Your hair will take a huge beating so its important you protect it from heat damage. Chroma Thermique protects hair from the harmful effects of heat-styling tools and other aggressors. It improves hair drying time and straightening performance. Nourishes, softens and moisturizes the hair while providing lasting optimal shine from roots to ends.

3. Sublimateur Jour
Its cold outside which only means DRY HAIR. Argh!!!
Lucky you, Kerastase just launched a new styling aid. This is my favorite!!!
Sublimateur Jour provides lightweight nourishment without weighing down the hair or leaving any residue. It leaves the hair super soft, shinny and supple. Best of all, it protects from frizz and dryness. This is a must have for any hair type this holiday season! Use before or after your blow style.

Featured Bride: Tara

I will never forget the day Tara came in to our studio. As corny as it sounds but my hands loved her hair from the moment they met! Since Tara's angelic look, she has been the most requested hair style to date. Multiple brides have called us to recreate her gorgeous style. Tara is stunning! She commands attention with such reverence. Flavia rocked her makeup and when everything came together, Logan from Zuma could not have done a better job at capturing her . I have hunted these pictures and I am so happy to share them with you. I hope you enjoy Tara in these photographs as much as we enjoyed working with her!

Brides Night Out- Hosted by Alta Moda

Last night we had the opportunity to be a part of the first ever Alta Moda Brides Night Out. An evening full of great food, photo booth, mingling and a lot of very in love girls scheduled to be married this up coming year. We were able to have 10 minute mini wedding makeover sessions with these brides and also give our professional opinion about wedding hair and makeup!
It was a blast and the food and decorations were to die for. Brown Brothers Catering had an Italian Soda Bar that was to die for! I seriously had like 10!!
Thanks to the staff at Alta Moda for having us! Check out all the images from our fun evening here

Fellow wedding vendor and friend of mine, Turia Larsen, is an incredible cake designer. She is one of the amazingly talented vendors we work with. Last week she sent me this picture of a cake she made for a cosmetologist graduate. She said she thought of me when she made it- what a sweetheart! So I had to post it for all of you to see because I think its incredible and I can totally appreciate it. I wish someone would of made me a cool cake when I graduated from cosmetology school! Come to think of it, I wish I could just have a cool cake like this for no reason at all! I love cake!!!
Wether its a graduation, a wedding or a birthday, Sugar Kisses - Cake by Design, should be on your list! Thanks Turia for sending this picture over! Love it!!!

Kimley

When Kimley walked into our Studio, we knew she would be one of the most beautiful brides that would sit in our chair. When we finished her look, we were excited for what the photographer would deliver, but when we saw the photos, I about died! Elizabeth Taylor Frandsen- you are a force to be reckoned with! Check out the rest of Kimleys photo session here.
Elizabeth named the above photo "Wings of Venus". Kimley is so gorgeous- a total Goddess for sure!!!
Flavia kept it soft with a grey and pink palette which worked so well with her blue eyes and added black liner and lashes for drama. Kimley loves pompadours but wanted to keep it soft and feminine, so we pumped her up and gave her a soft curl pattern throughout the rest of her hair.
Be sure to check out the rest of her session, It's magnificent!!

We all know we need quality products to treat and protect our hair during styling and daily agressors throught the day. But, we usually dont think to treat our hair while we sleep. Why not give our hair an extra 8 hours love!? Kerastase offers the Noctogenist line that works at night! The noctogenist range looks to the night, a privileged time to treat hair that has become dull and tired looking from daytime agressors. The formule Nocto-Active offers 8 hours of leave in care that helps replenish the fiber and restores the hair's original beauty.

Before going to bed, brush hair to remove any styling products. Massage 1-2 quarter sized amounts through the midlengths and ends of either dry or towel dried hair. Do not rinse and leave in for duration of sleep. In the morning, proceed with daily hair routine.

so... what are the benefits??
-Hair fiber is replenished with softness and radiance
-Helps protect against daily agressors
-Provides anti dryness protection
-Fiber is left feeling soft, supple and manageable
-Will not transfer from hair onto pillow or bedding

L- Stephanie

Guest Blogger - Hilary of Alta Moda

If you're reading Enizio's blog, you already qualify as a top-notch bride, so here is some insider information all in-the-know brides must know.

Fresh from three days of Wedding Forecasting Seminars and three more days in Chicago at bridal market, I have been privy to all the best tips and trends for the coming year from Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides.com, WeddingWire, TheKnot, and many other amazing wedding professionals. So, what should the 2010 bride look for and look forward to?

Here are some of my favorite finds:

Color
Crimson and Aqua will still prove strong. Pink, yellow, and orange will transform into muted and taffy tones. Less vibrant than previous takes on these hues.

Tangerine and Cobalt. Yep, really! Think clean and fresh, but very dynamic.

Ceremony/Reception Trends
Backdrops for Photo-Ops: Picture a DIY chalkboard, or a map of your favorite places to travel, positioned for guests to caprute themselves next to your sign in book.

Multiple Cakes: Speard them around the reception area, include a gooms cake, and why not a replica of your parent's cake, too?

Bigger Wedding Parties: Admit it, you love your family. Why not include all those sisters, his sisters, your brothers, and your close friends. Bring your loved one near and let them be a part of your big day.

Attire Trends
All White (think ivory, ercru, diamond white): That big weding party I was just talking about... Word has it donning them in all white is the next "IT" trend.

Patterned Bridesmaid dresses. Not up for the all white. Patterns from plaid to floral are showing up on all the best runways.

Big is Back: Ballgowns are back in bridal fashion. New takes on the classic skirt give a fresh interpretation for a bride wanting an elegant affair, but still with all the modern deligths.

Theme Trends
Wedding Logos: Brand yourself! Creat a unique monogram and place it on your invitations, aisle runner, programs, and even your favors.

Ahead of the Curve: 2010 Wedding trends

Lace: Not just for gowns anymore, you can decorate centerpieces, place settings, and even your stationery.

Sea Glass: Imagine translucent shades or sea blue and green, glossy bottles incorporated into table decor, and favors centered around these off-beat collectibles.

Updates

I recently traveled to Austin TX, for a 4 day business seminar. It was the most amazing experience as I got to rub shoulders with 25 other Kerastase salons located throughout the U.S, as well as learn from the staff of Salon Visage. The best part was that I got to spend 2 days with Geno Stampora. You may have read about him in earlier posts. If you didn't, I have to tell you that he is so incredible! He was recently awarded 2009 NAHA Hall of Fame for Most Influential Hairdresser. I love him!!!
We have recommitted ourselves to better customer service, better technical service and exceptional experiences every time!
As management dedicates themselves to that- Heres what The Enizio Artistic Team has been up to-

Katie's wedding was featured on Utah Bride Blog. Check out these great pics that Sweet Memory Garden captured of her getting ready at our studio. I think we've done at least 3 blog posts on Katie. This makes 4! Thanks Katie for being so amazing to work with. We love you!!

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to be a part in creating the 2010 ad campaign for Riehl Events. Talent included Alta Moda Bridal, StellaPosy, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Brody Dezember Photography and none other than the gorgeous face of Shariana Suliafu. The colaboration was amazing! You can check out some of the photographs on Brody Dezembers Photography Blog or wait for it when it hits newsstands in the January issue of Utah Bride and Groom.

And with honor, we were asked to do the hair and makeup for Alta Modas 2010 ad campaign. I don't have any previews and this pic is just a teaser. You can check out their ad in every major local bridal magazine come January. It was such a pleasure, as always!!!!

2009 VMA's

Now that the 2009 vma's have come to end, I'm sure we will never forget or forgive Kanye for his minute of shame. Madonna paid tribute to The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and it touched our hearts for sure. But lets get to the good stuff and review the hottest and baddest looks of the night and of course nod at the ones that just didn't cut it this year.

Keri Hilson's hair and makeup takes my vote for best hair and makeup look of the night. She looks soooooo hot! Props to her hairdresser and colorist. Two thumbs up to her makeup artist.
Hated it! Jennifer Lopez looked aweful. Nothing about it works for her including that dress!

I love the softness of her evening makeup look but her hair resembles Sways hat.

I can't decide if this is on purpose or not. Either way, Shakira's hairdresser finally gave her a decent blonde tone and Pink looks more feminine than Ive ever seen her. Love them both.
Lady Gagas performance was horrible. I can say the same for her makeup. The hair and wardrobe, I actually liked those. I think shes the only one who could pull this look off but it still didn't grab my attention. The video is a lot better.

Billie Joe's hair looks like a bad wig. For being an icon for cool hair, I was sadly disappointed
And of course, the famous Beyonce. I love everything about her hair and makeup. The performance was show stopping. The song, the choreography, the look, everything about it worked for me.

testimonial by Kelly

Sometimes I look in the mirror and think to myself - "Ugh!" Even if Im dressed nice or my hair is done, I wonder " What's missing?"
My answer was GREAT EYEBROWS!
Your eyebrows are a huge part of how you look, they frame your face and are the finishing touch to a great makeup application or a hair color.
The best way to achieve perfect eyebrows is to see Flavia for an eyebrow shaping or take it a step further and see Stephanie for permanent cosmetics.
I just had both done and I have never looked or felt so beautiful!!
-Kelly

I have to second that cause Flavia shape my brows and I got tons of compliments as well as feeling finished! Eyebrows do make a huge difference. Come and see for yourself!
